Be Your Age (1926)
8/10
Very amusing - but no thanks to Chase!

Warning: Spoilers
Be Your Age (1926) turns out to be another under-rated Chase short that I found absolutely delightful.

Mind you, Frank Brownlee steals the movie. He is priceless! Only Lillian Leighton can stand up to him and he certainly does put our Charley Chase right in the shade.

What's worse, Chase also has to contend with another accomplished scene-stealer, Oliver Hardy.

Gladys Hulette of Tol'able David and The Family Secret comes along for the ride too - and she doesn't need a close-up to capture attention. She can walk away with a three-shot as easy as batting an eye.

Director Leo McCarey is forced to give Charley Chase a comic dance, but this old-hat impersonation routine is not very amusing.

Fortunately, Don Kinnier's delightful score smooths over most of these awkward moments.

All in all, a very amusing Charlie Chase short feature, but not thanks in any way to Charlie Chase!
