Stars in your multitudes

Warning: Spoilers
"Stars" is a 2017 short film that runs for a bit over 20 minutes and was written and directed by Keyvan Sheikhalishahi, who was still really young at this point, actually still is today. It is his second effort as a filmmaker and as with his first short film, he also acts in here. But the big name from the cast is of course Götz Otto, a former Bond Antagonist with a career that spans over decades. And for me as a German it was particularly nice to see him here as I believe there is more to him aside the physical component and he also has some solid range as he shows us here. Female lead Agnès Godey I must admit I am not familiar with. She plays her role fairly well though too. It is a little family drama with some thriller and mystery elements and fairly entertaining and interesting to watch from start to finish, even if there aren't really any truly great stand-out moments. The director here was still under the age of 20 when he made this one, so there is definitely some promise present for the future. I also liked his take on atmosphere here, one of the more memorable components from this film. Overall, a good watch for everybody who likes Otto as much as I do and I want to add that I liked the indoor scenes more than the outdoor scenes. The element of fear from a claustrophobic perspective despite the big impact by stars (but only on pictures, not on the sky) adds more quality to the film. Overall, a solid watch and I give it a thumbs-up. Worth checking out.
