Review of Marius

Marius (1931)
10/10
Sea of love (rental)
7 May 2018
The sea changes everything here, influences everyone as a full character by itself even if almost invisible. This is a heart that Paris will never have (even with Quatar money) and for one time, this is an (old) french movie that makes me fell good.

The soul of the characters are wonderfully told, full of human poetry, emotion and fun and it's hard to imagine how can relationships could become so complicated and pressed so much. As much as Simon was a bad bear in Atalante, as much as Raimu is great teddy bear. The movie doesn't get old because dreams and love and parents care can speak to everyone.

In a way, Pagnol was our french Disney: his innovative (talking) 1st try was the same classic at once and he has even imagined trilogy movies! With the emotion i got this afternoon, i'm motivated to take at look at the sequels!
