As a fan of TBBT, I have also been enjoying Young Sheldon. I am surprised at the many negative reviews. Many fans of TBBT might have been expecting a similarly fast paced program, with nonstop laughs. This is a different show, one would hope it would be received as such, not as an extension of TBBT. Rather than a laugh a minute, we are given a laid back character study of a Texas family whose younger son is a genius. The result is totally engaging. Yes there are many funny moments. But there are some thoughtful moments too, and a few sad ones. Iain Armitage is perfect as Sheldon, and the whole cast is very good as an ensemble. it is not all about Sheldon as one reviewer said, we meet his family as individuals. If some viewers are not able to appreciate this gem, it is their loss. I only hope we get at least a few more seasons.
