This is not at all like the book
5 November 2018
Unlike the book which Gore Vidal was awarded for writing, this film is the victim of rules about copyrights and a vicious anti- Hollywood bias. Whereas the book was a commentary of the male ego presented in and developed by the films of the 40's and 50's. Virtually none of that theme is present in the film, it is so chopped up and dissected that what we do see is hardy worth the cost of the film stock used.

It is filled with actors, good actors, but put into impossible situations and chaotic directions. If this remotely sounds interesting READ THE BOOK forget the movie.
