Review of The Funeral

Abel Ferrara was a fantastic director and made a respectable credibility with the movie critics over many previous years, but in this movie don't make a good job, somehow the picture don't take off, the story is thriving but in slow pace and sounds inconsistent, the fabulous casting didn't could saves the whole thing where based in a confusing screenplay, Chris Penn has a best performance ever had that in some way saves the picture of a total failure, the italian mobster during the 30' with connections with syndicate and communist party are a air fresh to the picture and so well portraited those fractious times!!
