"Hilda" is a British-made series about a strange little girl who lives in Scandinavia...and it's now being brought to the States by Netflix. It's a most unusual show...one that apparently has been approved for a second season and that is good news.
The story begins in the countryside. Hilda is a neat little girl who has the uncanny ability to interact with supposedly mythical creatures...such as trolls and elves. In addition, seeing these creatures doesn't seem to scare her in the least...even when the trolls are mountain size! After two episodes, however, she and her mother are forced to move to the city...and there she makes friends with two kids who become her comrads in her adventures.
To understand this cartoon, it's a bit like combining "The X-Files" with "Gravity Falls"...but still quite cute and unique. The show is also great for anyone who loves mythology...and my daughter REALLY loves that sort of thing and insisted we watch all 13 episodes in one sitting! Overall, quite fun and a truly unusual sort of cartoon that will keep you wanting more.
