A CANDIDATE FOR A KILLING is a rather uninteresting Eurocrime movie starring British actor John Richardson. He plays a ne'er-do-well character who just so happens to be the spitting image of a millionaire, so of course the plot sees him impersonating said millionaire. Unfortunately for him, the gentleman in question is the target of numerous hit squads so the chase is on. This is generally a slow and non-compelling affair with a few genre elements and a lot of Bond influence. It has the look but not the plot to see it through, and the likes of Margaret Lee and Anita Ekberg are wasted as set dressing.
