I'll start this off by saying that I don't know much about the marines, or any military units in detail. I watch tv for the purpose of being entertained. I love watching how characters and plot lines develop.
I really like this show. I love all the characters and all of their relationships, and I like how things have developed so far. Even the marine back drop. That being said that's the reason I watch tv, if you're looking for everything to be correct from a military stand point this is not your show.
Obviously a lot of people are upset that things aren't being accurately portrayed, but it is just a fictional show. I think that the majority of viewers won't have the marine knowledge that most of the reviewers here have.
I'd definitely suggest that they get a marine consultant though as an easy way to stop them from making preventable mistakes.
Give this show a chance and don't just focus on the negatives. I think this could be a great show if given the time to find its legs.
