Foster's meets Camp Lazlo, but not funny.
22 May 2019
My Gym Partner's a Monkey would've been executed well if the animals actually gave a LOT of respect to Adam Lyon, and treated him like he's the king of the jungle, like Tarzan. But nope, they just treated him like garbage. Yes, the animation, art, and voice acting are REALLY good, but compared to better quality shows on Cartoon Network back then, such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Camp Lazlo!, and the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, My Gym Partner's a Monkey aged horribly.

Yes, it is interesting that the show was animated by Saerom, who also animated Flapjack and Regular Show, but this show never aged well. The only other character I liked was Kerry, because she actually CARES about Adam. Since the animals treat him like garbage, Adam Lyon doesn't even DESERVE to attend Charles Darwin Middle School. He's just better off at his old school.

This show was just a poor attempt to cross Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends with Camp Lazlo! The characters, minus Adam and Kerry, are unlikable, especially Jake Spidermonkey, who always talks about his butt, and it wasn't even funny the first time. I can't believe Cartoon Network forgot about Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi for shows like this and Ben 10. My Gym Partner's a Monkey should've been forgotten, AND written out by the channel.
