BEYOND SUSPICION is another retro-feeling thriller in which a cop, hated by pretty much everyone thanks to events from his past, finds himself on the trail of a minor conspiracy with a view to clearing his name. It's simplistic stuff but far better than rival fare, such as an awful John Travolta flick I had the misfortune of seeing recently called EYE FOR AN EYE. Karl Urban is a good choice of lead and Sofia Vergara certainly enhances things in her femme fatale performance. There's not a huge deal of action although that which is included is well handled, and the twists just keep on coming.
