Madam Secretary (2014–2019)
7/10
Nice but flawed and patronising
14 March 2020
The writing of this show is a bit awful. Very slick and patronising. The Americans are portrayed as some voice of reason and everyone else are portrayed as ugly and stupid. I am not even exaggerating. It is so full of cliches it makes me laugh! When I saw Madam's (annoying!) daughter with the Brit guy, I could not relax my laughter. Hear this, her struggle with British culture revolved around TEA! They pour milk first! And the weather! OMG! the writers of the show literally googled England cliches because they know nothing about England. And Israel, Russia, you name it, so full of cliches it makes me roll my eyes. Thankfully, Tea L is a great actress and she carries the show beautifully.
