Drowning Love (2016)
7/10
It was nice, and sad (and there's no way to be sure about what really happens at the end of the movie)

Warning: Spoilers
This movie was pretty cool, even though the plot remains unclear. I think you don't lose anything watching it if you don't hate love stories. To be precise, there was little music but it was good, the acting was great (of course, there's Masaki Suda... annnd Nana Komatsu, I'll admit she's pretty good too), and I also liked the visual atmosphere. However the backstory was quite weak :)

NOW: SPOIL I just watched the movie so I apologize if there are some mistakes here, I'm currently holding my tear- I mean I'm doing great and am going to try to explain what I understood. Well first, this movie is obvisouly heartbreaking because each character is so kind and at the same time things just seem like they can't work out. There are Koh and Natsume but there's also this one other guy who's sooo cool, I'm glad he was there otherwise I'd just have cried from the beginning to the end of the movie. Anyways, to me, this is about the two teens meeting and then it's love at first sight I guess. They have their own way of seeing things but that's okay. When the raping-tentative-event happens Kou isn't able to save her and that kind of breaks him. I think he felt very guilty about this and that's why it's so hard for him to get back to her. It's similar for Natsume, maybe she thinks he's responsible because he didn't save her but to me it's more likely to be about how difficult it is to face him after what happened to the both of them. Then they go to highscool. Kô hangs out with violent guys because, even if he doesn't say so, it's OBVIOUS he tries to get stronger (not the best way but it works since he beats the hell out of like ten people at the same time lol). Eventually they meet again but Ko rejects her again. I guess he still can't accept his failure a year ago. Finally when the weirdo comes back again, he IS able to do something. It seems he would have killed the guy if Kana weren't here (thanks god she was there, thanks to her Kô isn't a murderer). After all of this, Kana (and maybe Kô) get rid of the prooves. Everything disappears. But that's how Natsume is able to go on as an actress and makes this film about her past. After this, there's a whole lot of theories. If you want the true story I guess you can read the manga (I won't). I saw someone saying that it would be about Kô being a semi-god and becoming a real God after Natsume begins to really believe in him, it was actually a pretty smart thought. But I want to believe that, as she calls Kô her god from the start, maybe she just hopes he's in a movie theater, watching her right now. And she wonders if she'll ever be able to accept the fact that she can't meet with him anymore because that's how things are. Though she still can't accept it and that's why she imagines how the movie could have ended :she imagines her not going to Tokyo, but getting off the bus and leaving with Kô. she always hesitated between doing entertainment stuff and staying with Kô. It seems she's now following the first of these two paths even if that's not what she really wanted.
