I am really grateful to see such representation in cinema and the child actors definitely perform very well both in their roles and in their interactions (I loved the sibling relationship and the solidarity of Jeanne). However, I really feel that the film was just a little bit unsatisfying and left me wanting more. We have already seen this scenario play out in Ma Vie En Rose which was fantastic in its unravelling of the plot and incorporation of fantasy - I just wish that Tomboy took it that step further in giving us a more fulfilling production.
