There is a lot to like about The Great Bank Robbery, and nothing I did not like. My favorite scene involved Lyda Kebanov ( Kim Novak) re-enacting Lady Godiva's naked romp on a white horse ( although here she was in bra and panties). But besides Kim everyone was very good. It is about a plan to rob a bank full of gold that is run by a crook. There are four different groups trying to accomplish this. One of whom is Lyda's group headed by the Rev. Pious Blue, another are Mexican outlaws, still another is an individual outlaw named Slade ( Claude Akins ( who along with Kim Novak is best), and a Texas Ranger named Ben Quick (Clint Walker) who is working with some Chinese trying to get evidence against the bank owner and Mayor named Kincaid ( John Anderson). As you can tell, everyone is bad except Quick and although he is nice and polite and quick on the draw ( he killed 6 men in a bar), he is not too bright ( Lyda has him wrapped around her finger ( Like this quote: "I am going to make him lose weight, because I have to do all the work" meaning lovemaking)), Spoilers ahead: He does end up with Lyda ( or better yet, Lyda chooses him over gold), but who if anyone gets the gold? That is why you watch the movie. 10:20 stars
