Review of Crimson Wedding

The two military guys were with the groom of the dead bride discussing how they were all involved with something that happened on the beach 4 years before, and the groom said he was going to finally reveal to the authorities what that was, but he never does! So what was the point of that subplot? Would be great if someone from the production could share on here what that was supposed to be?
