After watching 'Safe' on Netflix I wasn't sure about giving this one a go. That show was an odd mix kinda entertaining but strange characters and acting quality. I had heard The Stranger was good so thought I would give it a go. But again it's an odd mix of tones. Strange humour, weird characters, acting that seems so out of place. Its more like Hollyoaks after dark. One of the son's friends was one of the most out of place characters with the cringiest dialogue I have ever watched in a show. I have no clue what was going on there whether he is just a terrible actor or badly directed. Like with 'Safe' the family involved with the death of the boy they were such out of place characters with cringy action and script. The Stranger plot lines based on decapitating an alpaca and fake pregnancies??? Really bad editing aswell, Jennifer Saunders in it for like 2 minutes but was advertised like she was a lead.
What on earth is going on with the writers of this guys books why is he allowing such bad adaptations haha
