A Joyous Christmas (2017 TV Movie)
6/10
Michael Rady, the real MVP

Warning: Spoilers
I'm pretty late to watch this, but here I am! Rachel is an inspirational speaker (is that even a thing?) and she is going back home to promot her book and give a ted talk?, which is produced by Jack. While she is there, she mets Joy, a woman who literally saves her life.

It was good. Quite slow at times for me even with so much going on: Joy, the event, the relationship between Rachel and her brother, with her manager, with Jack, etc.

Joy. Oh sweet Joy. I like the fact that she was not an Angel, or Mrs Claus or something (we have seen that before) but just an actual person. I love intergenerational friendships. However, I found the actress's acting SO annoying. She used the same tone when talking all throughout the movie. It's like she was about to cry every single time.

You know what I also hate? When one main character assumes something he shouldn't and just ignores the problem instead of talking and facing said problem like an adult. Luckily, that situation was quickly fixed.

While the Joy/Jack storyline was sweet and touching, I found it predictable and I was a little mad at it. Of all the cities in the whole country they end up in the same small town? Nope.

I was not a big fan of the chemistry of the characters and of our main lady, but Michael Rady had great scenes during this movie, he definitely was the MVP to me. You are doing amazing sweetie.
