A stand up comedy lasting 1 hour and almost half. But it doesn't feel long at all. Incredibly hilarious, Blanche has a well rounded stand up comedian's ability to touch upon taboo topics, teasing just a little over the edge with jokes but reeling it back in time for audience's comfort, and unafraid of self degradation. Blanche addresses so many societal issues in the modern day, she is brilliant in her story telling, keeping on track but covering a wide range of details and making incredible joke or pun connections where one least expects it.
This movie ended with such an irony relating to the title and to her whole stand up comedy as well.
Do we see it as tragedy? Or do we laugh it off like how we did her stand up comedy? Where do we draw our own lines betweem jokes and seriousness?
