Review of Pursued

6/10
Mitchum star

It's New Mexico at the turn of the century. Jeb Rand (Robert Mitchum) is a man on the run and Thor Callum (Teresa Wright) arrives to help him. He recounts how he got there. His family was massacred and Mrs Callum rescued the child. She raised him along side her own children, Thor and Adam. He is being pursued by a relentless one-armed gunman. It turns out to be a long running family feud.

I assumed that this was adapted from a long book and it's not. It's got a lot of plot. The guy goes through a lot and the movie rushes through a lot. It's a western epic melodrama and it's somewhat interesting. Mostly, I'm drawn to Mitchum and he's the reason to watch this. He is very much a movie star.
