The Tiger (2015)

This is well enough made, under what must have been difficult circumstances, Choi Min-sik puts in a great performance and the bamboo woods, pine forests and mountains look great, especially in the snow. The tigers and particularly the wolves are impressively created with the help of CGI and a fairly involving story is told, very much involving the occupying Japanese army of the time. Residual resentments between South Korea and the Japan are played out here in a rather obvious manner but more annoyingly the Disney influence becomes far too evident as we near the end with ridiculous antics between man and animal and rather silly mountain top bravado.
