Cusack - and a few supporting cast - tried to make a go of it, but the weight of a bad script pulls it all down. Having watched this for the first time today - after finding the movie by chance and thinking that it would be 'a Cusack film' and so good - it reminds me of multiple movies of the same vintage. It will remind you of other movies largely because it borrows so much from so many other movies. There was likely some effort to spoof the other movies, but the writing fails to deliver anything but repetition of the other movies and so you are simply remind of how much better they were than this sad little tale.
This movie should be a pass for anyone but a diehard Cusack fan, who wonders what his earlier 'poor' movies were like. Better off Dead was better and The Sure Thing was much better among his ealier work.
