It is fair to ask, "How the HELL did you never see The Last Waltz?!" I mean, I'm a white American male over the age of 40 who appreciates both movies and music! And yet: this was My First Watch of The Last Waltz. And I must admit I entered as a skeptic. Could this rockumentary really be *that* much better than all the others I have seen? Yes. Yes, it could. Scorcese finds so many ways to make it feel like you are on stage and experiencing this historic moment yourself. It feels less like a film and more like a party you somehow got invited to. Hopefully my first watch won't be my last.
