Helen Fielding sells out
15 February 2021
Helen was in a relationship with a writer/executive producer at the time of this episode. However, that doesn't excuse that terrible accent she used for the episode. What was the point of using her in the episode, when that's not her accent? (Helen was born in Yorkshire and her real accent is a Yorkshire accent)

I appreciate that American viewers might not appreciate her true accent, but it was so bad, it wasn't worth having a guest voice actor. It sounded like someone from elsewhere in the world mimicking a posh English accent.

As for the Benny-Hill-style segment featuring Helen, it's yet another example of the tired clichés used for the British.

I appreciate that I'm biased, as I'm Yorkshire born and bred, but it's a poor guest role.

I might have enjoyed the Ned dating storyline, had I not had steam coming out of my ears!
