I've also seen the 'Straight Up Edition" which is a completely different movie IMO but this was definitely the better choice. Mel is always a good watch and this time plays a hardened criminal named Porter who after getting double crossed and left for dead, comes back to claim his share. Dark atmosphere and and even darker humour sets the pace for this crime thriller. Great characters and plenty of them, wrongdoers, gangster and corrupt officials litter the screen and create what seems to be a never ending buffet of setbacks. Love the way this movie navigates the underworld with our "hero" tackling every obstacle with such brute force. Get ready to root for the bad guy.
