This was actually quite pleasant to watch. I had read some other reviews saying it wasn't like the original but that is not entirely true. Yes although some characters were changed from boy to girl that did not change my opinion because overall this was a good clean family series. Which is rare these days. It reminded me of simpler times when I was younger. It is set in the 80's and was a treat not to see all these kids on their smart phones. I enjoyed the original Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew and this had remanence of those days. I liked it... I like it a lot.
The story of the entire series revolves around trying to figure out who murdered the Hardy boys mother. To some it maybe a little slow pace but to me that only gives greater detail to other things in the show which I enjoyed.
The brother relationship is good, there is a genuine bond between them, they meshed very well together. I also liked the relationship between Joe Hardy and JB the thief. It was fun, harmless and comical. I never worried about Joe's safety with JB. All the supporting characters worked here, and that's rare for me to say.
Overall I give it high marks because it was a really good clean family series without the cheesiness. No dirty scenes, violence or bad language. It's nice to enjoy these kinds of series in a world where we are swamped with inappropriate stuff. For that I say thank you for the much needed good old fashion entertainment.
