Middling lowbrow comedy adventure

Warning: Spoilers
A follow up to Africa Express featuring the same stars, SAFARI EXPRESS is a middling and sometimes moronic Italian action comedy with an exotic setting. Giuliano Gemma plays the square-jawed hero in a role that could equally have been played by Terence Hill or one of dozens of other former spaghetti western stars now making their names in comedy. Ursula Andress once again plays an exotic foreign blonde who joins up with Gemma for a safari adventure in which they pit their wits against both Jack Palance's vicious villain and some riotous natives. A chimpanzee called Biba is the third character and gives possibly the best performance. The film is okay and worth a look for fans of this sort of stuff, although scenes like the one where Gemma beats the crap out of some natives in a local village haven't aged too well.
