After the FIRST episode
6 March 2021
The first episode was too rushed. Probably because the screenwriters wanted the episode to be intense the whole time. I don't know. Some things happen, but why no one gives a clue. Probably we'll see it afterwards. We'll see. I hope to see it. The dialogue was typical for a bulgarian movie with forced swearing. Sometimes i think that the bulgarian writers are eager to write this type of words. The communication was generic. Nothing organic. The acting was not natural. I did not believe it. May be Vergov's acting was almost at point. Other actor's presence was stiff at most of the time. Couldn't believe that they are police officers. Most of the time i had the feeling that i am in theater and not watching a series. I had the feeling that the actors are out of the theater, but the theater was not out of them. The "surprise" in the end of the first episode was amateurishly foreshadowed way back in the begining and i was expecting it. The camera was mainly static or with less to none movement. If you want to shoot an action series and the spectators to be immersed in the story, then make them feel like they are with the characters in the scene. Move the camera, give different angles with more "life" in the scene. I think that the series was shot similarly to "Broen"/"The bridge". To be honest, i was expecting someone to write similar series to the scandinavian one for quite some time now. Ok. Let's say that it is ok to copy some part from it. If we have to compare this episode with the first episodes from any season of "Broen" the latter are so methodicaly and fine writen that you can't say that they are rushed. And i won't even start to think about to compare the acting. To summarize after watching the first episode i am somewhat disappointed from what i saw. The producers are aiming to create series with world class quality and that is visible, so congrats about that. The actors must believe that they ARE the characters, because they are them for the time the series are shot. Give more "life" in the scenes. Immerse the spectators in the story.
