Deeper than reconnecting Roots

Warning: Spoilers
As a Korean-immigrant, I am so grateful for the people that made this movie and made it as emotionally connected as it did.

You follow a little girl, not just a princess, witness her fathers death. You witness her unable to hear her mother call her by her name before being taken away. You see her become a caged bird and send her one person (her royal server that she took w her to Japan) to ensure she does not get killed by the Japanese soldiers under that god awful man Han. She is then left alone to find out her ill mother passed away.

She is continuously so close to being freed (even in her attempts at Suicide multiple times) yet carries an unyielding pride in her Korean roots and her duty as a Korean. It speaks volumes.

I cried so hard bc I can't imagine the pain of experiencing death and loss in so many ways so frequently. I honestly wasn't expecting this movie to be as emotionally loaded as it is, but I'm more than happy to watch and ugly cry all over again.

The music compliments the moments and "beats". Score definitely amplifies different emotions such as sorrow, yearning, and suspense and I'm glad for the range.

I'm not gonna put anymore details on here about the story bc I really want folks to watch this movie. It's important to have something to relate to and acknowledge just how buried Koreas history is outside of WW2.
