Let's Dance movie review
21 May 2021
The director of this film is Ladislas Chollat. It is taken place in paris France. The cast consists of Rayane Bensetti as joseph. Guillaume De Tonquedec as Remi, Alexia Giordano as Chloe, Medhi Kerkouche as Karim, Fiorella Campanella as Emma, And Brahim zaibat as Youri. This movie is about a group of friends who want to compete in an international dance competiton. They leave their little town in France to go to the city,Paris, where Joseph's father lives. Joeseph then teaches at his dads ballet school to try and teach the ballet students different types of dance, like hip hop, so they can have more people when they enter the international dance competition. Joseph is the main character, his mother passed away when he was ten and he does not have a great relationship with his father. Dance is Joeseph's life and he uses it as an escape from reality. I saw a connection between the movie "sister" that we watched and this movie because they both show toxic relationships between family members, in sister Simon and his mom/sister have a bad relationship and in this movie there are multiple unhealthy friendships and relationships but mostly the one with his father. Some themes I noticed while watching this movie is motivation and toxicity. Like I mentioned before Joseph had a very unhealthy relationship with his father, he uses that as motivation to drive himself to be better and win the competition. I recommend this film to teenagers and anyone who likes dance or movies with dramatic events.
