One of my favorite Disney films!

Follow Me Boys released in 1966 by Walt Disney is a wonderful blend of comedy, drama and music and all around fun and action. Fred Macmurray play a scout master in a town that really needs someone to take care of the boys in the town. Kurt Russell plays a boy whose father is a drunk. He is swayed by Macmurray to join the scouts. The lovely Vera Miles plays Fred's wife in the film. She is a favorite of mine. She never disappoints in her performances. There are some sad moments in the film, followed by happy ones. Vera tells Fred she can't have children. Then Fred shows her outside that the boys in their troop are their children. Kurt Russell's father dies in the film and then Fred and Vera adopt him. An old woman is taken to court to take her money away because her son says she has lost her mind. Fred defends her and shows why she gives her money to the troop and other people. Just a wonderful film overall that blends comedy with drama so well. The straight Disney comedies like Son of Flubber, The Barefoot Executive, Now You See Him, Now You Don't will always be my favorites, but this film is special as well.
