Warning: Spoilers
An odd story of Billy Bonney, aka Billy the Kid, aka Henry McCarty and his crime spree. He started getting into trouble in his teens, ran back and forth between arizona and new mexico.. even fought in the Lincoln County territorial war of 1878. Robert Taylor was already thirty by now, playing a teenage Billy. The usual outlaw cowboy shenanigans, as Billy pals around with his frenemy Jim Sherwood (Brian Donlevy), just around the time of the land conflict. In this version, Billy has been able to get along with both sides so far, but he realizes it's going to blow up at some point. He meets with a different ending in this version of the tale. According to history, he was actually done in by sheriff pat Garrett after escaping yet again. At the age of 21. Directed by David Miller. According to the opening credits, this particular story is based on the book by Walter Burns. It's not bad. Just too bad they couldn't stick to the actual history.
