The King (2017)

Worth a look

Warning: Spoilers
THE KING is the usual Korean drama mixing all kinds of different genres together: quirky comedy, political drama, legal thriller and even a bit of horror added to the mix. It's a biopic telling of the rise and fall of a group of corrupt prosecutors whose rise was linked with the government in the late 20th century, and as a biopic it has much in common with both GOODFELLAS and in particular THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. It's a little overlong for what it is and perhaps slow at times, but impeccably acted and with plenty of drama and gravity to sustain it. Perhaps not the most original or creative film out there, but worth a look.
