This film is famous for two things; having the world's dumbest cowboy and having the worst ending of all time for any Western. And it is the latter event that makes the former condition. After an hour of a pretty good Western that was going to get a 6 rating or more, this film turns as bad as 10 day old mutton in the fridge. What cowboy in his right mind would throw away $5000 that he went through a great deal of trouble for to rebuy his stolen land just to satisfy the whim of some janie come lately? You would have to be the village idiot to do that. So, it appears at the end of the film that Jimmy Stewart is once again a sucker for a woman of questionable character. What an idiot! He deserves to lose the 5000, his ranch, and eventually, he will most likely lose this woman when she finds somebody a lot youngerl. This is a perfect example of how to turn a potentially good film into a ridiculus one. Don't waste your time on this baloney.
