Heat Wave: lukewarm at best
24 August 2021
Uninspired British noir with a by-the-numbers plot that's been done a hundred times before, often better. Even if we accept Hillary Brooke as an irresistible sex goddess (kind of a stretch, in my opinion), it beggars belief that the protagonist would take her protestations of undying love seriously when he already knows how casually she takes up (and tosses aside) men.

The performances are good enough, but there's nothing fresh about the story. When it ended, my reaction was: "That's it?"
