His idol Pluto always has been seen as one of the cartoon world's biggest losers, being the PET of another canine (Goofy). This makes the the tiny barker a loser's loser's loser. As Ms. Stein remarked, "A mess is a mess is a mess, and still stinks just as badly under any name you care to call it."
