The beginning of the end
5 October 2021
Charles and Caroline pack up their things and leave Walnut Grove because times are hard which doesn't make much sense because the restaurant Caroline worked at (which even bore her name) was doing good business. And I believe she was still getting 50% of the profits since the Oleson's put her name on the front.

Charles always worked at the mill and made enough to support his family there but suddenly that wasn't enough anymore I guess. Bumping Ma and Pa off the show was a huge loss. And inserting the Carter family in their place, and house was blasphemy.

I didn't like any of those people and never accepted them. From the wannabe Charles and Caroline Ingalls to their kids who were male versions of Mary and Laura. They were all impostors as far as i'm concerned.

Then we have Almanzo's niece Jenny Wilder who was supposed to be the new Laura Ingalls I guess because she sported the same pigtails Laura wore in her early years and had many similar spats with that horrible wretch Nancy who was supposed to be the new Nellie but was way too monstorous and hateful for me to ever accept. Jenny was no Laura and Nancy was no Nellie...just two more impostors of Walnut Grove.

Too many beloved characters were gone at this point that the essence of the show had gone with them. Whenever this season comes around on television, I tune out until the series starts all over again.

I'm giving it 4 stars only for keeping beloved favorites like Laura & Almanzo and Mr. & Mrs. Oleson and Willie...who by the way was only a couple of years behind Nellie, but strangely still going to school. I guess he was left back a bunch of times by Miss Beadle....another beloved character who was long gone by this point.
