10/10
Surprisingly good for a kids show
12 December 2021
Despite the show's Y7 rating, the writing has witty dialogue and hilarious character dynamics. Many of the new characters are unique and unforgettable.

While the filler episodes often have cliché and/or downright silly plots (typical kids show), the episodes that cover dramatic arcs and character backstory are done well. They have a classic fairytale adventure feel.

It's remarkably consistent with the canon of the movie. Small details are always remembered and there are never any loose plot threads that don't get tied up.

All of the music is excellent, composed by Alan Menken himself (the movie songwriter). The animation style takes some getting used to and occasionally glitches but it is pretty impressive for a Disney channel show. I also love the dramatic shot types they sometimes use.

Given that the show outperforms so many others in the same category, I decided.to give it a 10/10 rating. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I am a highschooler.
