Get over it. Watch the classical movies if you prefer a closer to the book approach. This is Jules Verne's idea of a marvelous and adventurous journey in a slightly updated, series-compatible version. With strong female characters also. Watch the characters (cast with excellent actors from all across Europe) develop their relations and friendships. If you like series and movies about friendships, watch this one! Across the episodes the series is well narrated, with perfect cliff hangers. I'd like to highlight the good casting competence in this production (perfect actor/character fit) and also the strong title music (by Hans Zimmer!). I'm glad a second season is already confirmed.
