In an ideal acting world Susan Strasberg, allegedly a lovely if troubled soul, would have been possessed of great talent while her fellow Method actor and well known jerk, Robert Duvall, would have been laughed off the screen. Alas, as Sidney Lumet found out while making this film, if not sooner, we must navigate the theatrical world as it is.
