Using historical facts to blame Capitalism is totally wrong, accusing Milton Friedman of being responsible for the actions of Pinochet is unfair to say the least. It's a reason why the Soviet Union collapsed and adopted Free Market policies to the present. China is using Capitalism to get their people out of poverty.
Cuba is fighting against Free Market ideas since Fidel came into power only to transform that country in a really Miserable place where the citizens are servants of their Communist liberators or servants to the "Capitalist pigs" that go there on vacations.
Venezuela is following the same path of Cuba only in recent years.
This movie is almost saying that Friedman brought dead and destruction to Chile with his Free Market ideas, when in Chile was already a disaster happening with the president (Allende) imposing Centralized Market ideas, same as USSR at the time.
Fidel Castro and Augusto Pinochet were very similar but in opposite sides. They both liberated their countries from corruption and destruction and after the Liberation Castro choses the Centralized Markets ideas to solve the problems and Pinochet choses Free Market ideas to solve the problems. We now know that both ways of government are too extreme and the solution falls more around the middle of these two ideologies (tools).
We can not blame the tools for the ways are being used.
