Beautiful film but still fails to touch the Soul!!

The Immigrant is a drama film directed by James Gray, starring Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jeremy Renner.

Two sisters sails from Poland to New York in search of a better life. However, the sisters are separated and one of them is forced into prostitution.

A Beautiful film with superb acting but somewhat doesn't manages to touch the soul and despite of a beautiful portraying of the film the film somehow looks incomplete.

The plot of the film is good but the screenplay is very slow, it's understandable that the subject of the film is such that the screenplay of the film can't be fast but this screenplay is almost dead slow.

Acting is superb and the is the one of the saving grace of the film. Cinematography of the film is also very beautiful and looks realistic, the climax of the film is good.

Overall a good film but despite of the sensitive subject it feels that the film fails to touch the soul and looked incomplete, still a must watch.
