Series losing steam and sympathy

Warning: Spoilers
So this is the fourth and final installment in the Female Prisoner Scorpion series. And by this point, you've kind of lost any sympathy for her. Each movie sets up her adversary as a police officer trying to capture or kill her, which is fine. First movie, a detective who set her up to be abused by the Yakuza. Second movie... the sadistic warden whose eye she put out. Third movie, officer who was chasing her and she chopped his arm off. This one has a cop you almost feel bad for, because she (accidently) kills his pregnant wife.

Second problem with this film is that Meiko Kaji, while being easy on the eyes, doesn't seem to have much of an acting range. She seems to always keep the same expression on her face no matter what she does. I think it's a problem in all the films, but this one she's phoning it in.

Third problem.. none of the character actions make a lick of sense. Let's break Scorpion out from her hanging so you can hang her yourself? Maybe there are some cultural Japanese things here I am not understanding... but the characters act illogically to keep the story going.
