Pink, one of my favorite hues, was first discovered by . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . Sir John Pink in Dover, England, about 11 AM July 22, 1361. Sir John had stumbled across some wild flowers which he realized were neither red nor violet, and he immediately named this new color after himself. WHICH exact shade of pink best describes PLUTO'S SWEATER has been a bone of contention for more than 70 years. It's likely that the Dizzy corporation used "Hot pink," aka Hex triplet F. F. B.6. C.1 or "Deep pink," aka Hex Triplet F. F.1493 for its sweater movie posters, which have faded with the passage of time. However, the sweater shade depicted during the actual cartoon is a far funkier hue. Some contend that it may be a washed out Solid pink, aka Hex triplet #893843. Others argue that it is surely China pink, aka Hex triplet #D. E.6. F. A.1. A few outliers swear it is Bright pink, aka Hex triplet #F. F.0.0.7. F, sometimes called "Rose." All I can say is that I'm sure glad that Sir John's surname was not "Punk."
