I watched this documentary back in the 70s when I was a very young child. I was in awe, fascinated and mesmerized that 50,000 people hiked over a mountain barefoot so their animals could eat. It was the beginning of my fascination with other cultures and how they lived. Not to mention becoming a documentary junkie! It's an absolute must see to appreciate just how we have it so easy 100yrs later.
