I may finish watching it at some point, but I gave up because I grew really tired of Anne and Wentworth tiptoeing around each other, when it is so blatantly obvious that the two of them will wind up together but for some reason, neither will say anything to the other about anything, and that just doesn't ring true with the way everyone is presented.
In this time period, with such different values and behaviors, I could see why Anne and Wentworth would be very polite and formal and hidden, but nobody in this film behaves like they are very polite or formal or have anything to hide, so the anachronism here is not the interracial marriages or alliances or the modern behavior or the sexual innuendos or witty repartee, but the behavior of Anne and Wentworth, and that's why I gave up and saved it for a day when I have nothing better to do, because I did enjoy Dakota's performance - up to a point, that is.
