Think of all the prison tropes you've ever seen or heard and squash them into an hour and a half film. That must have been the studio's request to the writers! It's all touched upon throughout this bizarrely feel good comedy!
But not only are the tropes developed, some are even turned on their heads to mess with us! And the only trope not addressed is the escape: plan or otherwise! Though not sure anybody would try to escape this prison, unless they loathe community musical theatre, one with an all-male cast like Shakespearean London, which turns out quite fun! There, I said it!
A comedy farce with a bit of a bromantic heart! Not for everyone, but surely some would enjoy it more than I did & I didn't not find it entertaining (double negative remnant of prison talk)!
