INGENIOUS PLOT THAT COULD BE MADE A REMAKE
21 August 2022
The story of three married couples friendly to each other. The men are entrepreneurs of wealthy position. One day the three women are kidnapped and taken to a remote abandoned lighthouse where they are taken prisoner, their husbands asked for a million dollars for each of them. The three have different positions regarding the event, One of them (Howard Duff) refuses to pay his part of the ransom arguing that his wife (Tisha Sterling) has been unfaithful to him and that their marriage is a farce, the second (Lesley Nielsen ) is desperate because his wife (Sheere North) is diabetic and needs insulin to live, while the third (John Saxon) is the most concerned about rescuing his wife (Barbara Parquins) whom he loves madly. Lieutenant McCloyd (Robert Reed) takes charge of the case and advises the payment of the ransom. The story has a surprising twist in the middle of the film and an unexpected ending. This TV movie has a script that could perfectly be modernized for a film remake and would surely be a great success. It is worth highlighting the cast that, in addition to being all great Hollywood figures, are outstanding in their performances, highlighting above all the works of John Saxon and Barbara Parquins, which are perfect. Another great achievement of this production is the music by Randy Edelman.
