Except for a scene at the early part, the movie hits all the right notes. Shows the fears, and the desperate running, never staying in one place too long, then getting out before the authorities can get you. We see the effect on the boys, the innocent voctimes, who are pulled into the vortex of the parent's bad decision of 15 years earlier. The scene referenced should not have been made a part of the final cut. The idea of abandoning the dog on the side of the road is hearless in the extreme. A loving, faithful companion and he is discarded like a piece of trash, very bad. If you wouldn't abandon yous sons like that, you DON'T abadnon your dog like that, ever.
