Few Sparks

Ray Milland, a professor of psychology, returns to town and campus. He spouts some theories about how women want to be dominated, which reporter Teresa Wright comments on, much to the approval of her editor, Brian Donlevy; however, it earns the paper a libel suit. To dig up dirt, Miss Wright goes undercover into Milland's classes, with the usual romcom complications.

None of the leading players seem to be willing to put much into their roles, with the exception of Donlevy, who pretty much plays a stinker. There are several fine players here, mostly reduced to bit parts, like Rose Hobart, Lloyd Bridges, and Frank Faylen. Iris Adrian offers some oomph as a burlesque dancer, but it's pretty much a rote effort under director Sidney Lanfield.
